A Show Within A Show!

Dear Patrons of Finely Made Art and Craft Objects!

We have changed locations this season! It is a very different venue for us but we are excited about the change of location and the good company we will have!

On the weekend of April 11 - 13 the Portobello West Fashion + Art Market will hold its debut event in Calgary that the New Craft Collective will be featured at! Established as a monthly art + fashion event in Vancouver and met with great success, founder Carlie Smith has put together a bi-annual event especially for Calgary! Alongside members of the Collective you will find 70 other designers, makers and artists with products ranging from baby apparel to fashion forward accessories! Please read more about it in the following article!

BOUNTY : 4th Annual Fall Show & Sale

Find contemporary art objects and design ideas by independent, professional artists and designers from Alberta and British Columbia. Collective members showcase their diverse approaches to making and object design at the Carpenter’s Union Hall, in the heart of Calgary’s handmade community, Kensington. This venue is very accessible to the general public, breaking the norm of displaying this kind of work in a high-end boutique or art gallery setting. A very user-friendly art event!

The current roster of members are not only all professionally trained artists, but also successful women entrepreneurs in their respective mediums and communities. At BOUNTY, patrons should expect to find highly crafted work that encourages them to look at everyday objects such as a ceramic mug, a silver ring, a canvas, a pillow, or garment in a new way! Each artist will be present with their work, so visitors can meet the makers and their stories. The New Craft Collective boasts talent that pushes boundaries, invites art into everyday life and results in an aesthetic that is distinctly Canadian.

On Friday night, Oct 12 (4 -10) ambient beats will be spun by a local DJ (TBA), with complementary food and a cash wine bar (no minors please). Saturday, Oct 13 is open to everyone and admission is free both days.
